August Checkup

Its been a busy 6 months. I’ve had some ups and downs on my journey. Where to begin. I’m working closer to home which is great. Less time spent traveling to and from work and more time to relax before work. I’m loving my new workplace and have made some great friends. I also get to spend extra time with my 4 legged, furry, fluffy child and my best friend Benji. (My 6 year old cat). A great stress reliever and an excellent listener.

My studies and coming along nicely. I plan to be qualified end of the year. Studies have had a few delays due to other priorities. Its a great feeling when you receive excellent feedback and encouragement from the teachers, and realizing the skills I’m learning I naturally put them into practice in my daily interactions.

There was another death in my family, with the passing of my last living grandparent. Another tough family time but with no arguing the funeral went smoothly and the family came together to support each other on the day. Cherish your family while they are alive. Holding grudges are those little things that can be the obstacle that create distant forever. The past can’t be changed. Live in the now and create your journey towards a bright future. Having family who love you for who you are and support you in health and achievements are those positive souls we all need in our life. Removing negativity people from our lives and stay close to positive people, can influence positive energy into your own life.

On a positive note I reduced and eliminated my sugar intake and have been eating healthy with my regular daily exercise and feeling great within myself. I’m getting my anxiety under control, although some situations it tends to escalate but I’m learning to manage it better. Apart from having the flu for several weeks, which is almost gone, I have been reasonably healthy and feeling more positive. Its come to my regular 6 month checkup with the endocrinologist to see how everything is going. Having my regular blood test, will the results show up excellent, as I have been feeling great. With the anxious wait finally over, I attended my 6 month checkup all positive and wanting my results to  be great. To my surprise my (Cortisol / Stress hormone level has risen to being extremely high at 586 nmol/L) and (Prolactin has risen again to  a high of ~ 1474 mIU/L). With my endocrinologist not to pleased with the increase has recommended taking hormones possible from my next visit and have another MRI to see if there is any changes to the pituitary. Also another recommendation to improve my hormones is by gaining about 10kg. (I’m sorry but i’m not going to gain weight and get fat in the hope that my hormones will improve. I’m happy the weight I am and I feel healthy within myself). I’m going to try to regulate the hormones another way by doing some research and seek advice from a Naturopath or health professional.

Over the next few months i’ll be focusing on my studies, working, controlling my anxiety, being healthy, staying positive and regular updates to Toll-Art website and concentrating on Art Therapy.

I hope your going well on your journey and I am truly grateful of those following my journey. I wish you all Peace, Hope, Harmony and good health.

Consultation with Endocrinologist

In July 2006 I saw Dr Tang –Fui for a follow up appointment on my progression of treatment on a natural alternative medication, blood test results and MRI scan results. I had been taking Vitex for 4 months now as I couldn’t handle the side-effects of the prescription medication.  Dr Johnston recommended this natural therapy as she attended a conference and they had introduced this new alternative to treating excess prolactin levels and other hormonal imbalances as this was my last option. I had been seeing Frank Riegal the Naturapath for my prescription of Vitex liquid and I had regular blood test to check on my progress. Unfortunately Dr Tang-Fui was not to please with natural therapy and also the fact that it had not improved my Prolactin levels. With the reading from March to August being 2752 miu/L, 5258 miu/L,  6645 miu/L and 6110 miu/L. Also the recent MRI scan showing an increase in the Pituitary Prolactin Macroadenoma with a measurement of 16mm in size. Dr Tang-Fui recommended I see Dr Johnston to get a referral to see Dr Pullar to discuss what the next steps to take will be.

Naturopath Consultation

After several weeks on these new vitamins and minerals I was noticing some improvement. I was feeling extremely better with my energy levels and I did have some good days and bad days. Overall I still managed to continue on with my Diploma in Visual Arts. My journey so far has been of great inspiration for many art pieces and my lecturers were quite please.

Naturopath Consultation

After several months of my new diagnosis and gradual adjustment I found I wasn’t making much progress. I was constantly tired, hardly had any energy, struggled with daily chores, and I needed some more assistance. A suggestion of seeing a Naturopath was looking like a great option for a natural approach to help with my symptoms.
I began seeing a Naturopath Frank Reigel in March 2005, eating healthy to alleviate my tiredness and allergies to gluten and following a new schedule of healthy herbs, vitamins and minerals.
I was put on CoQ10 (Coenzyme Q10) and Ultra Muscle Eze (magnesium supplement) vitamins to help increase my energy levels. With regular consultations to monitor my progress and updates of any blood tests results from the doctor.
