Sorry for the delay in updating my website, blog, Facebook and Twitter pages as I have felt to unwell to be able to sit in front of the computer for long periods of time.
Well firstly I’d like to start by letting you know I’m still on my current health journey but this time with a slight detour to focus on myself and healing one again. Lets call it “Healthy Journey 1 Part 2”.
As most of you are familiar with my story, and those new to my journey thanks for jumping on board and feel free to browse through my website in your own time. After a few routine bloodtests, every 3-6 months prior to a check up, and an MRI there was a little uncertainty as to where my next part of my journey would take me.
Well after a few months of not feeling my usual happy self, and the elevate Anxiety, Depression emotions, my bloodtest results and MRI scan showed up that the Pituitary Tumour, I had removed in 2007, has decided to appear to be causing issues once again. With the MRI showing no large tumour at this stage, the tiny little residue left over is starting to be stimulated to be growing once again and needs to be put under control.
To hopefully avoid the continued growth of the tumour and going through the brain surgery once again, the only option would be to attempt the Chemotherapy medication for the next 2 months and see how I go with my next blood test and only on a lower dosage.
As my appointment with the endocrinologist was just before Christmas 2014, I decided to enjoy Christmas with my family and catchup with some friends, and also enjoy New Years with my last few drinks before my next journey.
I commenced the Chemotherapy tablets on the 2nd of January and will be taking these daily until my next checkup with the endocrinologist on February 27th.
With the range of emotions and feeling I’m going through on this Chemotherapy ranging from “Tired, Dizzy, Vomiting,
Nausea, Spaced out, Low Blood Pressure, hot and cold sweats, disturbed sleep, Anxiety, Light Headed, Blurred Vision, Ringing in the Ears, Sensitivity to Hot and Cold, Upset Stomach etc.”
I have been unable to drive or function properly on this medication without the assistance of family and friends to get around and do everyday chores of cooking, cleaning, bathing and getting around on my own safely, so I have been unable to attend my part time employment. My employee is very understanding of my circumstances and wants me to concentrate on my health, and hold my job open until I’m well enough to go back to work. At this stage I’m uncertain when I will be returning to work until I see the Endocrinologist in February, whether I continue on this Chemotherapy at a lower dose, increase the dosage, trial a new tablet, or cease taking it all together and could possible lead to brain surgery if I cant’s get this under control.
Food has been not too bad to stomach depending on how i’m feeling that day, but lots of icy-poles, powerade, chocolate bars for energy, and trying to eat lots of fruit, veggies, salads and fresh meet as well as lots of vitamins, and Apple Cider Vinegar.
My best friend, furr baby, family, friends, Toll-Art Therapy followers and social networking with others going through a similar journey, have all been wonderful and supportive during this unhealthy time for me and I hopefully will be writing my next post with some positive news.
