At the end of August I had my first consultation with a Physiotherapist at the Beleura Sports and Spinal Centre in Mornington. I explained to the physio my history with Transsphenoidal Surgery and the nerve issues and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome I needed treatment so as I could regain use of my Left Hand and be able to do my artwork and have the possibility to gain employment with out this restricting my employment prospects. Being Left Handed this has been a little frustrating for several months but I had managed to learn to use my Right Hand to perform certain daily tasks and continue on with my Artwork, but searching for employment I am limited as to what I could do as I can only use one arm and perform no heavy lifting. The physiotherapist explained to me that this will be a long process to alleviate some of the pressure and possible in a few months time the pain, tingling and numbness will be minimal. Because I was in quite a bit of pain I made it a little difficult for the physiotherapist to begin treatment so this first consultation was mainly using the ultrasound machine to apply heat and a muscle easing gel to my neck, shoulder and back. Also the physiotherapist gave me some simple exercise to go home and perform until my next appointment 3 days later.
