In August it had been 6 months and it was time for my next check-up with the endocrinologist. I had an MRI scan of the Pituitary done at the Frankston Hospital a few weeks before with my Mum by my side, as I don’t like MRI scans. I also had a blood test a week before to check how my hormones are functioning and if the Transsphenoidal Surgery has corrected and regulated my hormones. I sat in the waiting room nervously waiting to be called in and fingers crossed everything is all good. I was called in and to be relieved when the endocrinologist said that the MRI came back with a little swelling of the Pituitary due to the surgery and no sign of the Tumor so it’s all gone! Yay! Blood test results really good. My hormones have seemed to return back to normal and I will not need Hormone Replacement Therapy to regulate them. Also my menstrual cycle has returned and is regulating again. I also explained tothe endocrinologist about my issue with the nerves and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome. He said this could possible be from the way I was positioned in the operating theatre while performing the Transsphenoidal Sugery and to keep him updated on the progress and treatment of this condition. I have a referral for another blood test and will be seeing the endocrinologist in a few months time to see how my hormones are going.
