I lay in the hospital bed for a few days with my Mum and Jeremy taking it in turns to be at my bedside as I didn’t want to be alone. I felt so tired, sore and unhappy. I remember asking for many pain relief medication as my whole face was quite painful. The regular blood tests were quite painful and having a fear of needles made the process even worse for me and for the nurse taking my blood. I had regular visitors coming and going which lifted my spirits. I was quite relieved when the doctor came in to check on me 2 days after the Brain Surgery – Transsphenoidal Surgery and said I would be getting the tape removed off my nose and i’ll be going home the next day. A few hours later a nurse came to remove the tape and to reveal a very swollen nose with a slight bruise underneath my right eye. The remaining padding in my nose will be removed in a few days. I am quite looking forward to this. It’s quite uncomfortable but glad to at least have the tape off my nose.
For the rest of the afternoon and evening I spent relaxing with my Mum and Jeremy with a few visitors dropping in. I was a little emotional at night because I was giving my Mum and Jeremy a rest and spent my last night in hospital by myself. After a restless sleep, waking up to the nurses with pain relief medicine, I couldn’t wait to be going home late morning. I gathered all my stuff together, freshened up and waited for my Mum to pick me up. With my recovery part of my journey beginning with my family.
