I returned for my next appointment with the local doctor a week after I have had an MRI scan and another blood test. As I sat in the waiting room with my Mum we both were quite anxious to see what my results were and staying positive. I was called in an as we sat down in the consulting room the doctor had a strange look on her face. I looked over at my Mum and at the doctor and I was getting quite nervous. I’ll never forget these words. The local doctor sat all quiet then with a very serious look said “I’m so sorry to have to tell you this, but you have a brain tumor in the Pituitary Gland!” I paused in shock. Then reality set in. I found it hard to comprehend what I was just told. My Mum and I just broke down. It was possibly the day my life changed rapidly!
After coming to terms with this current diagnosis, it was quite urgent to commence further investigation immediately and possible treatment. The rest of the consultation with the local was a bit of a blur because all I could do was just cry and I wasn’t prepared for what was to come next. The local doctor referred me to see a Neurosurgeon, to discuss the current finding of a Pituitary Tumour, the high Prolactin Levels, and the next part of my journey.
